Reviewing Direct TV Package Options
With a satellite television package, you will have several choices when it comes to the programming content. This can be a bit confusing, as usually with your cable company there are just two or three choices when it comes to the programming package that you choose. Dish Network and Direct TV each have four base packages, and with the latter you can also go with a very low priced Family package option. So which should you choose? Lets take a closer look and review your choices.
The Choice package has about 150 channels total, and is a good option if you are comparing it to the typical entry level digital cable package. While many of the networks are actually music channels, you will get around 100 video channels which will usually keep everyone in the family happy. One step up from this package is the Choice Xtra bundle, which moves you into the 200 channel range. Here you move into some of the secondary tier cable television networks. Many of these are designed to appeal to special interests, but if you have a particular hobby or interest, you may find some of your favorite content with this particular package.
The next option is the Direct TV Choice ultimate package, which is actually a new option for 2010. Here you will find everything in the Choice Xtra bundle, plus eleven commercial free movie networks. They aren’t top level channels like HBO, however. Instead you will find some of the Encore networks, but this is an affordable option for movie lovers.
Finally, the all you can watch option, the Direct TV Premier package is at the top of the list. You get every channel that Direct TV offers which means more than 30 commercial free movie networks plus quite a few music networks. Good deals are offered on this package in conjunction with the NFL Sunday Ticket offer that comes out each summer.
