Not surprisingly, several big name brands are popular and monopolize the pod coffee maker market. While there are many brands of pod coffee makers produced, the big brands are purchased in the highest numbers. Given their popularity, it is reasonable to expect that they are also ranked highly over other brands by consumers.
Keurig makes a very popular pod coffee maker, selling six different models. In addition to cost, they also differ in water capacity and the kind of coffees used.
Tassimo is the other large manufacturer of pod coffee makers. While offering fewer models that Keurig, Tassimo also makes popular models of pod coffee makers, though the variations between models in terms of style and appearance is small. The difference in quality between Keurig and Tassimo is minimal as both are simple to use and make tasty coffee. However, there are some important differences to think about before choosing one brand over the other. Keurig has contractacted with more than twelve different coffee manufacturers to produce K cups (coffee pods, expresso pods and capuccino) for their pod coffee maker. Therefore, the Keurig offers a wide variety of coffee brands. Some of the brands are Green Mountain, Deidrich Coffee Roasters and Newman’s Own, etc. There are also other brands of coffee pods, expresso pods and capuccino pods available with the Keurig pod coffee maker.
However, while Tassimo has fewer brands, it has partnered, exclusively, with Starbucks to offer Starbucks coffee pods. If you need a Starbucks fix, then Tassimo is the brand for you. Of course, if you want a larger selection of brands, then Keurig coffee pod makers are an appropriate selection. Either brand makes a great work or home coffee maker.
